Cory Wong presents « The Fretboard Odyssey »

On December 12, 2026, Cory Wong brings his show The Fretboard Odyssey to the Georg Elser Halle in Hamburg. Rooted in Minneapolis, the guitarist, composer and producer fuses the precision of jazz with the drive of funk, pop and soul. He gained international recognition with Vulfpeck, where his rhythmic playing and stage presence helped shape the band’s sound; at the same time he refined his role with the Fearless Flyers as a focused rhythm guitarist known for distinctive timing.

As a solo artist, Wong has released a series of albums spanning horn-driven funk to instrumental fusion. In concert he emphasizes tightly interlocked grooves, crisp horn arrangements and room for collective improvisation. Collaborations with Jon Batiste, the Jonas Brothers, Bruce Hornsby, Chromeo, Billy Strings and Victor Wooten demonstrate his openness to different scenes and approaches.
