PJ Morton

PJ Morton brings his New Orleans‑rooted soul to Knust in Hamburg on 18 October 2026. Singer, songwriter, performer and producer, he moves between R&B, gospel and pop with an easy flow, carried by warm arrangements, supple vocals and keys always up front. Away from his longtime role on keyboards with Maroon 5, Morton has built a solo catalog that leans into melody and groove, from Gumbo and Paul to Gospel According to PJ and Watch the Sun. His recent project Cape Town to Cairo, written, recorded and produced during a 30‑day trip across Africa, adds fresh colors and rhythms to a live show that shifts naturally from intimate ballads to tighter funk passages.

On stage, Morton’s band stretches the songs without losing their pulse, letting his harmonies breathe and his New Orleans sense of rhythm lead the way. A 6‑time GRAMMY winner with collaborations spanning Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, Jill Scott and more, he brings a repertoire shaped by studio craft and road experience. In 2024 he also penned an original song for Disney’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, another marker of a musician who keeps connecting tradition with present‑day soul.
