Grupo Cañaveral

On September 11, 2026, Grupo Cañaveral de Humberto Pabón lands at Sala But in Madrid with the cumbia that has kept Mexico dancing since the 1990s.

Formed in Mexico City in 1995 by Colombian musician Humberto Pabón and now led by Emir Pabón, the group hones a direct, melodic cumbia crafted for the dancefloor and mainstream radio. Generations have sung along to songs such as "Tiene espinas el rosal," "No te voy a perdonar," "Hasta el cielo lloró" and "Echarme al olvido," a repertoire that blends Colombian tradition with a Mexican stamp through brass arrangements, driving percussion and call-and-response backing vocals.

Their career is reflected in billions of global streams and multiple diamond, platinum and gold certifications. Along the way they have recorded collaborations with Yuri, Grupo Niche, Bronco, Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda, Pedro Fernández, Ana Bárbara, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, María León and other leading figures of the Latin music scene.

In Madrid they will present a live show that looks to their classics as well as the more recent stages of their history, with cumbia as the backbone and dance as the gathering point. It will be an opportunity to reconnect with a popular sound that fuses Colombian heritage and the vibrant energy of the capital in a live setting.
