The Allergies

Born in Bristol, The Allergies is the project of DJs and producers Moneyshot and Rackabeat, a duo raised on classic hip hop, funk and rare groove. On stage they cut and paste sample-rich beats, boom-bap drums and brass-laced hooks with a turntablist’s precision, switching between tight DJ routines and a live set shaped for the dancefloor. Their catalogue runs from As We Do Our Thing to Promised Land, a line of records built on soul loops, old-skool breaks and conscious storytelling, and it has sparked regular collaborations with Dynamite MC and voices from UK rap and soul. Expect crate-digging selections stitched into sharp edits, call-and-response party cuts and an energy that rolls from first drop to finale.
