Info
Temples play Strange Brew in Bristol on 9 November 2026. Formed in Kettering in 2012 by James Bagshaw and Tom Walmsley, now joined by Adam Smith and Sam Toms, the band moves between psychedelic rock, psych-pop and indie, with a light glam tint. Across Sun Structures, Volcano, Hot Motion and Exotico, they’ve shifted from 60s-leaning psych towards a wider palette where baroque pop colors, motorik undercurrents and denser arrangements take hold, while keeping melody at the center.
On stage, the quartet works in layers: chiming and fuzzed guitars, vivid keyboards, tight vocal harmonies and grooves that lock in then open up. Tracks pivot from clear hooks to more extended passages, balancing direct songcraft with detailed textures. The set draws threads across their catalogue, letting shimmering psych brush up against heavier, rhythmic drives. It’s a live format where contrasts make sense: brightness and haze, propulsion and space, energy and control — a focused run through a sound they’ve patiently expanded album after album.
