In the Round: Bea1991

In the Round: BEA1991 brings the Anglo-Dutch artist to ICA Bookstore in London on 12 June 2026. Working across music, image and movement, Beatriz de Rijke, aka BEA1991, treats performance as a place where pop writing, vocal research and visual thinking meet. Trained in aerial acrobatics, she moves between song and gesture, and describes herself as a pantheist, polyfocal artist exploring the contours of human creative existence.

On stage, BEA1991 draws from a palette of spare melodies, soft guitars, minimal electronics and layered harmonies, folding ballads and atmospheric textures into intimate, elastic forms. The set leans into detail and proximity, the spirit of an in-the-round encounter.

Alongside her work as a performer, Bea runs an artist counselling practice (2021–2026) aimed at helping creators locate their “Pinnacle Creative”, a no-nonsense core of making that also informs her live approach. Her path has crossed with Andrew Callaghan (Channel 5), Because Music, Potato Head Bali, ECCO Leather, Axel Arigato, the London Contemporary Orchestra, Goldsmiths and Iconoclast, mapping collaborations that reflect her open, cross-disciplinary method.
