Brown Spirits (AUS)
From psyched-out krautrock to free-jazz wig-outs to funk-flavoured downtempo jams, Brown Spirits endeavour to approach each show with intensity. Hailing from Melbourne (AUS), the band maintains a DIY recording ethic and has several global releases, the two most recent albums on Soul Jazz Records (UK).
The band has shared stages with some of their favourite influences such as Kikagaku Moyo (Japan), Frankie and the Witch Fingers (USA), Minami Deutsch (Japan), Earthless (USA) and Yawning Man (USA).
Barbican Estate (JPN)
Barbican Estate formed in Tokyo in 2019 and consists of Kazuki Toneri (guitar, sitar), Miri (bass, vocals) and Koh Hamada (drums, percussion). They have played shows in the Tokyo underground scene and released an EP and three singles in 2020. They released their first album, Way Down East, in winter 2021. Barbican Estate uses drones, psychedelic soundscapes, driving rhythms and vivid lyricism to create their sound.
The band's influences include Japanese psychedelic and noise rock, US experimental bands, classic film, as well as literary and architectural movements.
