Info
Little Barrie hit Rough Trade Nottingham on 20 May 2026 for a live set followed by a signing, celebrating the release of Gravity Freeze on Easy Eye Sound. Formed in the late 1990s around guitarist and singer Barrie Cadogan, the band folds garage rock, psychedelia, rhythm and blues, funk and soul into a tight, trio-minded sound: clipped grooves, unfussy vocals, a guitar tone that sketches sharp lines rather than big gestures.
After early singles and the albums We Are Little Barrie (2005), Stand Your Ground (2006), King of the Waves (2011) and Shadow (2015), the group paused in 2017 following the death of drummer Virgil Howe. Cadogan and longtime bassist Lewis Wharton then reactivated the project with Malcolm Catto as Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto, releasing Quatermass Seven (2020) and Electric War (2025). With Gravity Freeze (2024), recorded in North London, Little Barrie return to their original name and a writing approach that lets British rock sensibilities rub against rougher American references.
On stage at Rough Trade Nottingham, expect new material from Gravity Freeze alongside cuts from across the catalogue, then a chance to meet the band at the signing.
