Glenn Jones

Glenn Jones brings four decades of American soul and R&B to Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on 24 November 2026. Raised in Jacksonville’s gospel tradition, he first stepped out with the Modulations before moving into R&B with Norman Connors on “Melancholy Fire” in 1980. Early releases set the tone: the EP Everybody Loves a Winner (1983), followed by RCA albums Finesse (1984) and Take It from Me (1986). He then continued on Jive with Glenn Jones (1987) and All for You (1990), and carried that blend of romantic soul and contemporary production into Here I Go Again (1992) and Here I Am (1994).

On stage, Jones navigates slow-burning ballads and mid-tempo grooves with an expressive, gospel-inflected delivery shaped by the classic adult R&B sound of the late 80s and 90s. His set draws on staples like “Show Me,” “We’ve Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not Over),” “Stay,” “Here I Go Again,” and “I’ve Been Searchin’ (Nobody Like You),” alongside later cuts from It’s Time (1998), Feels Good (2002) and Forever: Timeless R&B Classics (2006). A night anchored in melody, phrasing and lived-in storytelling from a voice at the crossroads of soul and R&B.
