Info
On 20 August 2026 at Union Chapel in London, John Scofield unveils his Long Days Quartet, a fresh summer project named for the stretch of daylight and built around new groove-driven compositions. The set will also dig back into Scofield’s songbook, revisiting pieces from across his catalog with a present-day angle and plenty of room for interplay. Expect a band sound that leans into pulse, space and melody without fuss, letting the tunes do the talking.
At the core is the long-running dialogue between Scofield on guitar and John Medeski on keyboards. Twenty-seven years after A Go Go, their partnership keeps renewing itself, fed by albums and touring with Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood, duo projects and the cooperative band Hudson. Here they’re joined by drummer Ted Poor and bassist Vicente Archer, a rhythm team built for motion and clarity. Together, the quartet frames Scofield’s new material and reworked classics with an easy cohesion: lines weave, grooves settle in, and textures shift from earthy to electric as the music unfolds.
