Joshua Idehen

On 8 November 2026, Joshua Idehen brings his blend of spoken word, jazz and electronic pulse to The Adrian Flux Waterfront in Norwich. A British-Nigerian poet, vocalist and musician, Idehen moves between intimate storytelling and sharp social observation, delivered with a tight, rhythmic diction. First heard with Benin City, he’s since threaded the UK jazz and club scenes, collaborating with outfits like Sons of Kemet, The Comet Is Coming and producers such as Daedelus. On stage, his voice rides supple electronics, house and broken-beat grooves, with arrangements that nod to contemporary jazz while keeping the text at the core. Recent projects, from Learn To Swim with Ludvig Parment to the EP Mum Does The Washing, feed a set that shifts from hushed confession to chant and call-and-response. Special guests join for the occasion, widening the palette and letting the poems bend and spark across different textures, somewhere between a gig, a reading and a club session.
