Joshua Idehen

Form presents Joshua Idehen at Electric Studios, Sheffield, on 14 November 2026. A British-Nigerian poet, vocalist and musician, Idehen builds bridges between spoken word, contemporary jazz and club-leaning electronics. First noticed with the trio Benin City, he has since moved fluidly across the UK jazz and electronic scenes, collaborating along the way with outfits like Sons of Kemet, The Comet Is Coming and producer Daedelus.

On stage, his delivery is rhythmic and clear, grounded in a spoken cadence that folds everyday observations, social thought and more intimate stories into elastic grooves. Expect text-driven pieces that ride supple synths, house and broken beat pulses, and arrangements marked by jazz sensibilities, switching between collective energy and more personal, voice-forward moments. Recent releases such as Learn To Swim (with Swedish producer Ludvig Parment) and the 2024 EP Mum Does The Washing feed a set that blurs the line between poetry reading, concert and club session. Special guests join him for the night.
