ShitKid

ShitKid lands at Rough Trade, Bristol on Wednesday 16th September, 2026. The project of Swedish musician Åsa Söderqvist, ShitKid deals in lo-fi rock where garage grit, off-kilter pop and punk instincts meet. Early releases sketched the blueprint with raw, one-take energy and half-spoken vocals circling sharp hooks. The debut album Fish (2017) pushed a bare-bones, grunge-tinted approach; This Is It (2018) and Detention (2019) tightened the punch and the sneer. In 2020 came Duo Limbo / Mellan himmel å helvete, a studio face-off made with Melvins, followed by 20/20 ShitKid, which folds catchy fragments into rough-edged experiments.

On stage, Söderqvist strips things to the core: short songs, primitive beats or a lean backline, riffs scuffed with tape-hiss, melodies that flip from sing-song to deadpan. The set moves between bedroom-pop minimalism and a cracked punk stomp, keeping the edges exposed and the tension high. Special guests join the bill for the night.
