Darkside

Darkside — Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington — bring their shape-shifting live set to EartH Theatre, London, on 13 July 2026. Formed in Providence in 2011, the project threads Jaar’s minimal electronics and hushed vocals through Harrington’s stretched, textured guitar work, leaning into slow-blues inflections, nocturnal psychedelia and patient, progressive builds. After an early EP and the album Psychic, the pair paused before returning with Spiral in 2021, a collection of long-form pieces built on repetition, a discreet pulse and open-ended structures.

On stage, Darkside prefers to stretch the material rather than reproduce it. The duo’s interplay works like a live engine: synths and modular tones set the grid while guitar bends around it in delayed arcs. With Tlacael Esparza now on percussion in the live formation, the music takes on a more tactile backbone and a looser, more mobile feel. The result sits somewhere between a rock show and an electronic performance, with room for improvisation, slow-burn tension and that measured push-and-pull that keeps the room locked in.
