quickly, quickly

Portland producer and multi-instrumentalist Graham Jonson, aka quickly, quickly, steers a live project that drifts between beatmaking, indie pop and modern soul. First noticed for jazzy lo-fi instrumentals rooted in hip-hop, he has moved toward fully formed songs, bringing his voice and layered harmonies into focus. The 2021 album The Long and Short of It on Ghostly International marked that shift, revealing a more melodic, organic approach shaped by slow grooves and detailed arrangements.

On stage, quickly, quickly builds warm textures from supple drums, keys and guitar lines with a jazz tint, while keeping the downtempo DNA of his early beats. The set moves through intimate tempos, suspended chords and a songwriter’s touch, carried by live instrumentation and subtle electronics. Newer tracks open up the palette without losing the swing and hushed atmosphere that anchored his first releases.
