Digitalism: DJ Set + Signing

Digitalism bring an in-store DJ set and signing to Rough Trade Bristol on 30 May 2026, celebrating the release of their new album, Optimism, on Magnetism Records. Formed in Hamburg, the duo of Jens Moelle and İsmail Tüfekçi has long navigated a line between club culture and indie energy, folding electro house, indie dance and a hint of electronic rock into a direct, melodic sound. On stage and behind the decks, they work with tight rhythms, muscular basslines and compressed synths that move from hypnotic builds to straightforward hooks without losing momentum.

First noticed via a run of singles on Kitsuné in the mid-2000s, including Zdarlight and Idealistic, Digitalism set the tone with their 2007 debut Idealism, split between instrumental floor tracks and vocal cuts. I Love You Dude in 2011 leaned further into pop-leaning structures with Circles, while Mirage in 2016 opened toward melodic techno and airier textures, extended by club-focused EPs like Lift, 5KY11GHT and JPEG. This in-store set threads new material from Optimism with favorites from across their catalog, in a format built for proximity and quick shifts, before a signing session with the duo.
