Dumbo Gets Mad

On November 5, 2026, Dumbo Gets Mad — the psychedelic pop project of Italian producer Luca Bergomi, active since 2011 — arrives at Sala Upload in Barcelona. His starting point is clear: to mix styles, languages and references without prejudice until shaping a distinctive, playful and slightly disorienting language that, in concert, unfolds through a staging where sound and image feed into one another.

Bergomi debuted with Elephants at the Door, which drew attention from outlets such as Pitchfork and NPR, and he has continued to evolve with each release: the open psychedelia of Quantum Leap, the more minimal and elegant pulse of Thank You Neil, and the expansive approach of Things Are Random And Time Is Speeding Up. In 2021 he collaborated on Marracash’s album, further consolidating his profile as a producer.

With more than a hundred concerts and appearances at festivals like SXSW, Levitation and Manchester Psych Fest, Dumbo Gets Mad has honed a meticulous, immersive live show. In this new phase with Carosello Records he is previewing material from his fifth album — a record that looks at the world from the outside and distils what he has learned over the years. The set is woven from warm grooves, luminous melodies and 1970s textures reinterpreted with contemporary production.
