Info
The View celebrate 20 years of their debut album Hats Off to the Buskers with a tour that stops at Electric Bristol on 6 March 2027. Formed in Dundee in the mid-2000s, the band sharpened a lean indie rock sound where punk urgency meets power-pop hooks and a folk tint, driven by Kyle Falconer’s unmistakable Scottish phrasing. Early singles Wasted Little DJs and Same Jeans carried them onto UK airwaves and festival stages, before a string of albums that stretched from Which Bitch? and Bread and Circuses to Ropewalk and, after a break, Exorcism of Youth in 2023.
For this date, the group digs back into the songs that launched them while folding in the writing they’ve refined over the years. Direct choruses, bright guitars and that pub-rock backbone are still their base, now delivered by the core trio Falconer, Kieren Webster and Pete Reilly with Jay Sharrock on drums. Expect a set that traces their path from Dundee rehearsal rooms to a catalogue built on sharp melodies and straight-ahead energy, with Hats Off to the Buskers as the night’s compass.
