Tinariwen bring The Hoggar Tour to London, carrying a strand of Saharan blues shaped by Tuareg history and long nights on the road. They call it assuf, a Tamasheq word for absence and longing, channelled into interlaced guitars, handclaps and a steady, loping pulse. On stage, voices rasp and answer, riffs circle and build, and the groove settles into a trance that moves without hurry. Their songs speak of travel, freedom and survival, with melodies that feel rooted in wide-open spaces.
Two decades on, the collective plays like a caravan: musicians step forward, step back, harmonies gather and loosen, the rhythm section keeps the compass steady. The Hoggar Tour brings fresh contours to that signature sound while revisiting pieces that introduced many listeners to Tuareg culture. Tinariwen play O2 Forum Kentish Town in London on 18 May 2026.
