Stornoway released their debut Beachcomber’s Windowsill in 2010, the culmination of a five-year journey that began with a Freshers' Week meeting at Oxford University. Noted for its melodic writing and imaginative arrangements, the album reached the UK Top 15 and achieved Gold status, leading to world tours, festival appearances, and a show at London’s Somerset House.
Stornoway's songs are melodic and heartfelt, but the songs are just the start. The band runs on curiosity. Producing their own records, they take a bespoke approach to each track. With a diverse range of instrumentation and a focus on the creative process, each song is given a carefully considered place to live, musically and geographically, with recording locations including campervans, wind-buffeted barns, chapels, and community centres. Stornoway will perform at Exeter Phoenix on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 7:30 pm.
