Thievery Corporation

Thievery Corporation plays London on 30 July 2026 at Roundhouse. Formed in Washington, D.C. in the mid-90s by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton, the duo helped shape downtempo by folding trip-hop, dub, bossa nova, reggae, jazz and Middle Eastern tones into a warm, head-nodding blend. From Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi and The Mirror Conspiracy to The Richest Man in Babylon and The Cosmic Game, their catalogue drifts between lounge-leaning atmospheres and politically tinged grooves, with voices and lush arrangements at the centre. Later albums like Saudade and The Temple of I & I deepen the bossa melancholy and the Jamaican connection.

On stage, Thievery Corporation expands into a live collective of singers and instrumentalists. The show moves fluidly from bass-heavy dub to syncopated bossa, from smoky trip-hop to cinematic interludes, stitching old favourites to recent cuts without breaking the flow. It feels less like a DJ set than a band in motion, where percussion, horns and rotating vocalists carry the productions off the record and into the room.
