Vonda Shepard

Vonda Shepard returns to the stage with a piano-focused set that moves between pop-soul, acoustic rock and intimate ballads. Born in New York and raised in California, she placed melody and keys at the center of her writing early on, stepping out with the 1987 duet Can’t We Try before releasing her self-titled debut in 1989, then The Radical Light (1992) and It’s Good, Eve (1996). From 1997 to 2002, she became a familiar face and voice through Ally McBeal, performing on screen as herself and signing Searchin’ My Soul, the series’ theme, alongside a string of soundtrack records.

On stage, Shepard revisits that TV chapter while pulling widely from her solo catalogue: By 7:30, Chinatown, From the Sun, Solo, Rookie, and her latest, Red Light, Green Light (2022). The show leans on the piano, vocals and songs that favor direct writing and clean, melodic lines, with room for slow-burn grooves and tighter pop turns. Vonda Shepard plays at Empire Music Hall in Belfast on 2 October 2026.
