Info
On 23 May 2026, The 1865 in Southampton hosts Wanderlust Festival, a day built around sharp, exploratory guitar music. Squid sit at the heart of the lineup. Formed in Brighton in 2016 before relocating to Bristol, the five-piece fold post-punk, experimental rock, kraut rhythms and new wave accents into songs that twist and reset on the move. With drummer-vocalist Ollie Judge steering the pulse, their live set pivots between spoken contours, clipped melodies and collective surges, drawing from Bright Green Field (2021) and O Monolith (2023) as well as early EPs that set their looping, angular blueprint.
From Glasgow, Humour bring a dry, clear-eyed writing style that pairs taut post-punk and crooked guitars with a streak of melancholy. Their lyrics turn everyday frictions into sharp sketches — disappointment, small losses, the urge to speak with nothing to say — keeping the tension just under the surface while the band tightens and releases around it.
Fuzz Lightyear push into the noisier end of the bill, channelling UK garage and noise rock instincts into serrated riffs and heavy-limbed grooves that land with purpose. Also on the lineup: LEMONSUCKR, adding another edge to a day that leans into intensity and left-field hooks.
Wanderlust Festival takes place at The 1865, Brunswick Square, Southampton.
