Two strains of late‑90s/2000s heaviness collide in Belfast as (Hed) P.E. joins Cold at Limelight on 30 September 2026.
Born in Huntington Beach in 1994, (Hed) P.E. fuses rapcore, nu metal, punk rock and flashes of reggae and ska into what frontman Jared Gomes once dubbed G‑punk. Early cuts from Hed PE and Broke carried big riffs and hip‑hop bounce; later records like Blackout, New World Orphans and Detox kept that hybrid edge alive. On stage, the band flips from hard verses to melodic hooks, with grooves that slide between pit energy and laid‑back skank. With Gomes as the constant through many line‑ups, the show stays raw, rhythm‑led and restless.
Formed in Neptune Beach before taking root in Jacksonville, Cold follows a slower, moodier line through alternative metal and post‑grunge. Led by Scooter Ward’s deep, fragile tone, their songs lean on thick guitars, restrained tempos and choruses that settle in quietly. From 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage and Year of the Spider to A Different Kind of Pain, Superfiction and The Things We Can’t Stop, the catalog balances weight and introspection. Live, Cold alternates dense, low‑slung anthems with quieter breaks that let Ward’s melodies breathe.
