Soen bring their Reliance Tour 2026 to Newcastle on 20 November 2026 at Digital, with a set that leans into their blend of progressive metal, atmospheric tension and melodic clarity. Formed in Stockholm by drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth) and vocalist Joel Ekelöf, the band has shaped a distinctive approach where polyrhythms and tight grooves meet clear, expressive vocals and spacious guitar work. From the intricate foundations of Cognitive (2012) and the dynamic turns of Tellurian (2014) to the more organic Lykaia (2017), Soen have steadily refined a sound that balances weight and nuance.

Lotus (2019) and Imperial (2021) pushed that balance toward sharper hooks without losing the band’s layered textures, while Memorial (2023) tightened the songwriting and Atlantis (2022) reimagined key tracks in a more intimate frame. On stage, these threads come together in fluid transitions, escalating crescendos and measured quiet, with each part serving the song. Joining the bill, Tribulation and Vulkan round out the night with their own shades of heaviness and progressive intent.
