The Damned bring Final Damnation 50 to O2 Academy Birmingham on 5 December 2026. Formed in London in 1976, they helped kick off UK punk with New Rose and the album Damned Damned Damned before shifting toward post-punk, goth tones and a darker pop flair. Led by Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible, the band lines up a career-spanning set for this anniversary, moving from the sharp rush of their early singles to the atmospheric pull of Phantasmagoria, with Machine Gun Etiquette-era highlights anchoring the middle. It is a rare chance to hear how their sound has evolved while keeping the tension and wit that marked their start.
Support comes from The Saints '73-'78, focused on the first run of songs that defined the band in its earliest years. A tight, high-energy snapshot from that period sets the scene before The Damned take over Birmingham for a night that connects punk roots to everything that followed.
