Kraftwerk « Multimedia Tour 2026 »

Kraftwerk bring their Multimedia Tour 2026 to O2 Apollo, Manchester, on 22 May 2026. Formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the group moved from early krautrock experiments to a clear, repetitive and melodic electronic language with Autobahn, then Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World and Electric Café. Mechanical rhythms, processed voices and themes of technology, mobility and everyday modern life anchor their writing, often summed up as robot pop.

On stage today under the direction of Ralf Hütter, Kraftwerk shape a set where sound and image are locked together. The show revisits key pieces from across their catalogue, reprogrammed for the present, with sequences that slide from motorik pulses to glassy synth lines, vocoders and drum machines carrying the flow. Tour de France Soundtracks and The Mix-era arrangements sit alongside earlier signatures, all woven into a single audiovisual narrative. Multimedia Tour 2026 is conceived as a performance that treats the repertoire as living material, with visuals designed to mirror the precision and movement of the music.
