Info

Sea Power return to Portsmouth at The Wedgewood Rooms on 25 October 2026. Formed in Reading around brothers Yan and Hamilton Wilkinson with guitarist Martin Noble, the band first made its mark as British Sea Power before adopting the Sea Power name in 2021. With Phil Sumner and Abi Fry adding keys, brass and strings, their sound leans from indie rock into post-punk revival and post-rock contours: nervy guitars, patient builds and arrangements that push beyond the usual rock format.

Across two decades, the group has moved between studio albums and commissions for film and games. The Decline of British Sea Power (2003), Open Season (2005) and Do You Like Rock Music? (2008) set the pace, followed by score-led projects like Man of Aran (2009), From the Sea to the Land Beyond (2013), Happiness (2014) and the soundtrack for Disco Elysium (2019). The name change ushered in Everything Was Forever (2022), a continuation of their way of threading narrative and landscape through noise and melody. On stage in Portsmouth, expect a set that taps into this catalogue and the band’s layered live dynamic, with guitars and textures shifting between urgency and expansive atmospheres.
