The Chameleons bring Home Is Where the Heart Is 2026 to New Century, Manchester on 4 December 2026. Formed in Middleton in the early 80s, the band carved out a post-punk sound built on chiming, echoing guitars, assertive basslines and Mark Burgess’s tense, melodic vocals. Script of the Bridge, What Does Anything Mean? Basically and Strange Times still anchor a set that balances shadowy atmospheres with clear songcraft. Today, Burgess steers the group through a catalogue expanded by later recordings, keeping the arrangements lean and the dynamics sharp on stage.
Special guests B-Movie join the bill, along with Kahula.
To close the night, DJ Andy Woods (Smile / Unknown Pleasures) digs into post-punk and new wave selections.
