Info

Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Kweku Smoke brings his sharp blend of hip-hop, hiplife and trap to Electric Brixton, London, on 29 May 2026. Born Paul Amankwah, he emerged from Accra’s scene with a sound that moves between gritty street narratives and hook-led refrains, mixing English, Twi and pidgin over lean, percussive productions.

His breakthrough came with Yedin alongside Sarkodie, taken from his debut album Snoop Forever, a track that pushed him beyond the local circuit. Since then, he’s multiplied singles and collabs with Emtee, Kwesi Arthur, Efya, Dammy Krane and Joey B, affirming a network that crosses scenes and borders. In the studio, the line runs from the EPs We Rage and Big Shmoke (2022) to Old Compound (2023), then He’s Just Different and Playman the same year, before a 2024 turn with Kweku Jesus and Born in Hell, projects that tighten the focus on personal experience and steady progression. Signed to Scatter Der/Krakye Geng, Kweku Smoke has shaped a voice that cuts through with direct flows, dark-hued trap textures and rhythms tied to the contemporary Ghanaian rap lineage. On stage, expect that balance of drive and clarity, with the raw elements of his catalog brought forward without excess.
