Info
Skunk Anansie and Garbage land at Guildhall Square, Southampton on 23 June 2026 for a meeting of two distinct takes on alternative rock. With Shirley Manson up front and producers Butch Vig, Duke Erikson and Steve Marker on instruments, Garbage fuse abrasive guitars with electronic textures and pop instinct, from the self-titled debut and Version 2.0 to more recent No Gods No Masters. Their studio-built approach feeds a live set where darker atmospheres, tight rhythms and songs that travelled far, including the Bond theme The World Is Not Enough, sit side by side.
Formed in London, Skunk Anansie carry a harder charge: Skin, Ace, Cass and Mark Richardson balance alt rock, punk snap and metal weight, with flashes of funk and dub. From Paranoid & Sunburnt and Stoosh to Wonderlustre, Black Traffic and Anarchytecture, their writing digs into power and identity with direct hooks and a sharp melodic line. On stage, Skin’s voice shifts from clarity to grit with ease.
Du Blonde opens. Under Beth Jeans Houghton’s hand, the project leans into garage-psych and punk-coloured pop, trading raw riffs and concise melodies across records like Welcome Back to Milk, Lung Bread for Daddy, Homecoming and Sniff More Gritty.
