Info
On 9 October 2026 at Leeds Beckett Students' Union in Leeds, Yonaka bring their hybrid take on British rock to the stage. Formed in Brighton, the quartet lines up Theresa Jarvis on vocals, George Werbrouck-Edwards on guitar, Alex Crosby on bass and keys, and Robert Mason on drums. Their sound threads heavy, riff-led guitars with hook-focused songwriting and rhythms that nod to hip-hop and contemporary pop, a balance they’ve shaped since the EPs Heavy, Teach Me To Fight and Creature.
The first album Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow (2019) pushed more intimate themes and questions around mental health into the foreground, while the Seize The Power mixtape (2021) opened their palette wider. With the EP Welcome To My House (2023), Yonaka keep that blend of direct rock energy and accessible structures, tailored for live impact.
In Leeds, expect a set drawn across their catalogue: sharp guitar work, dynamic vocal lines and production touches that give their songs a modern edge. It’s a compact, high-energy format that suits both their early singles and their newer tracks, carried by tight rhythmic shifts and sing-along choruses without losing bite.
