Info
Ocean Colour Scene headline Plymouth Arena, Plymouth, on 7 December 2026, with The Enemy on the bill. Formed in Birmingham in 1989, Ocean Colour Scene forged a direct rock sound that threads britpop, blues rock and English soul. Built around Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock and Oscar Harrison, the band writes tight songs with melodic hooks, crisp guitars and an unmistakable mod tint. Early baggy and indie leanings gave way mid‑90s through close ties with Paul Weller and a 1995 tour with Oasis. Albums like Moseley Shoals, Marchin’ Already and One from the Modern anchored their place, followed by a steady run through the 2000s that kept the formula lean, with subtle psych touches and a clear sixties imprint.
The Enemy bring Coventry grit to the same stage. Formed in 2006 by Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts, they cut short, tense and melodic tracks driven by upfront guitars and lyrics rooted in everyday city life and social observation. After early buzz and tours alongside Oasis, Kasabian, Stereophonics and The Rolling Stones, they released four albums from We’ll Live and Die in These Towns (2007) to It’s Automatic (2015). A pause in 2016 was followed by Tom Clarke’s solo project and a reunion in 2022, putting the trio back in fighting shape for festivals and clubs alike.
