On 23 February 2027 at Globe Theatre in Stockton-on-Tees, Wet Wet Wet mark 40 years of Popped In Souled Out, the 1987 debut that introduced their mix of soul-leaning pop, orchestral ballads and guitar-led hooks. Formed in Clydebank near Glasgow, the band broke through in the mid-80s with melodic songcraft and a tight rhythm section, then broadened their palette with The Memphis Sessions and a solid run of albums into the 90s. This anniversary show looks back to where it all started, revisiting the spirit and sound of that first record while drawing across the catalogue, from Holding Back the River and High on the Happy Side to Picture This, 10 and The Journey. The set brings groove, keys and brass-tinged textures, plus the big choruses that carried their songs far beyond the UK, reconnecting early soul-pop energy with later chapters on stage.
