On 2 October 2026 at O2 Academy Bournemouth, The HU bring their Warrior Chant Tour to the south coast, joined by SKÁLD.
Formed in Ulaanbaatar in 2016, The HU define their hybrid of rock and metal as “hunnu rock”, where throat singing and traditional Mongolian instruments lock in with heavy riffs and alternative metal rhythms. The tracks Yuve Yuve Yu and Wolf Totem pushed the band onto the international map, paving the way for extensive touring across Asia, Europe and North America. Their debut album The Gereg (2019) framed this mix of guttural vocals, collective choruses and steppe‑tinged melodies, while Rumble of Thunder (2022) leaned into a heavier edge. Collaborations with artists like Serj Tankian and Jacoby Shaddix have widened their scope without diluting a sound anchored in Mongolian heritage.
SKÁLD, a French project led by composer and producer Christophe Voisin-Boisvinet since 2018, explores Nordic myth through neofolk built on percussion, traditional‑inspired strings and vocals in Old Norse and other Scandinavian languages. The lyrics draw on sagas and folklore, from Vikings Chant (2019) to Vikings Memories (2020), the Winter Songs EP (2021) and Huldufólk (2023), focused on northern tales and creatures. On stage, SKÁLD’s vocal layers and drum patterns shape an immersive, ritual pulse that sits naturally alongside The HU’s amplified charge.
