Info
On 3 July 2026 at Alexandra Palace in London, Alabama Shakes play a set rooted in soul-steeped rock and blues. Formed in Athens, Alabama, the band brings together Brittany Howard (vocals, guitar), Zac Cockrell (bass), Steve Johnson (drums) and Heath Fogg (guitar). Their debut Boys & Girls (2012) mixed raw garage energy with vintage soul contours, while Sound & Color (2015) opened toward more atmospheric rock and subtle psych touches. On stage, that palette pivots around Howard’s expressive voice, warm guitar grain and a stripped rhythm section, gliding from concise, melodic songs to wider, slow-burning grooves.
Tyler Ballgame, a Los Angeles singer-songwriter, sets the tone with a classic pop sensibility shaped by 60s/70s orchestration and folk. Early tracks like Radio and Help Me Out outline his approach: acoustic frameworks, retro-tinged indie pop and a front-and-center vocal line, with echoes of Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Harry Nilsson or Paul Simon without pastiche. Live, his arrangements stay measured, the tempos supple, and the melodies clear, all built to carry the song.
