Info
Big Thief step into Aviva Studios in Manchester on 28 May 2026. Formed in Brooklyn around songwriter and guitarist Adrianne Lenker, the quartet with Buck Meek on guitar, Max Oleartchik on bass and James Krivchenia on drums navigates the line between bare folk intimacy and rough‑edged indie rock. Live, Lenker’s voice draws the focus while the band lets songs breathe, shifting from hushed arpeggios to tense crescendos with a calm, unshowy precision.
Their path runs from the raw contours of Masterpiece and Capacity to the twinned 2019 statements U.F.O.F. and Two Hands, before widening with the expansive Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You. On stage, that catalogue becomes a terrain for slow‑burn grooves, fingerpicked sketches and loose, open‑ended jams, stitched together by lyrics that look inward without drama. Expect a set that moves in textures and pulses rather than poses, where small details carry weight and each song finds its own space in the room. Manchester gets them in full conversation, close and electric.
