Info
Swedish singer, composer and organist Anna von Hausswolff brings her blend of shadowy songwriting, experimental soundscapes and pipe-organ writing to Rescue Rooms in Nottingham on 1 September 2026. Emerging from Gothenburg’s independent scene, she has built a body of work where an expressive voice meets long, sustained textures, somewhere between atmospheric pop, slow-burn rock, dark ambient and a near-liturgical feel.
From the intimate folk hues of her debut Singing from the Grave (2010) to Ceremony (2012), where the organ steps to the forefront, her trajectory pushes toward wider, more resonant arrangements. The Miraculous (2015) and Dead Magic (2018) stretch into longer, repetitive forms often linked to post-rock and heavy, slow currents, while collaborations with metal and experimental circles have sharpened her sense of weight and space. With All Thoughts Fly (2020), entirely centred on the organ, she pursues a stripped-back, instrumental approach that moves between minimalism, drone and clear melodic motifs.
On stage, her concerts favor extended pieces, gradual builds and dense harmonies, crafting a focused, physical listening experience anchored by the organ and voice.
