Neil Young brings The Chrome Hearts to Blackweir Fields in Cardiff on 5 July 2026. From the Buffalo Springfield years to a long solo road with and without Crazy Horse, Young’s concerts swing between hushed acoustic songs and raw, electric passages. With The Chrome Hearts, he draws from folk, rock and country, revisiting cornerstones and newer cuts with a band built for open-air dynamics, wide guitars and a direct, unpolished sound.
Joining the bill, Elvis Costello arrives with a catalogue that runs from sharp new wave energy to soul-leaning ballads. His songs balance taut hooks and clear-eyed storytelling, shaped across decades with The Attractions and The Imposters, and recharged on stage by a bandleader used to quick left turns and tight interplay.
Austin guitarist and singer Charlie Sexton adds a Texas grain to the night: blues-rooted riffs, clean melodicism and a feel shaped by Arc Angels, solo records and long service at Bob Dylan’s side. Together, these line-ups set up an evening grounded in deep catalogues and guitar-forward interplay at Blackweir Fields, Cardiff.
