Info

Benjamin Steer brings his singer-songwriter pop project to Exchange, Bristol on 22 May 2026. British-American-Belgian, he writes from the in-between, blending melodic pop, indie textures and contemporary ballads built around an upfront voice and direct hooks. His lyrics circle the switchbacks of early adulthood: desire and doubt, anxiety and the need to breathe, solitude and the social pressure that weighs on his generation.

He began writing while studying economics at the University of St Andrews, moving from a few covers to sharing original songs online. Early tracks like Be My Love, Miracle, Sinner and No One Wants To Die Alone sketched the frame: intimate confession distilled into concise pop forms, with refrains that stick and lines that linger after the chorus. Steer speaks openly about the perfectionism that shapes his process, linked to his OCD, not as a pose but as a way to refine the writing and keep it honest.

On stage, he keeps it clear and close: vocals at the front, melodies doing the work, somewhere between bedroom candour and accessible pop. A set that traces fragile moments without losing the pulse.
