On 12 June 2026 at Guildhall Square, Southampton, Amy Macdonald brings her acoustic-led blend of folk rock and indie pop. Raised near Glasgow and first heard in local pubs, she broke through in 2007 with the album This Is the Life and songs like Mr Rock & Roll. Since then she’s refined a direct, narrative style across A Curious Thing, Life in a Beautiful Light and Under Stars, balancing clear hooks with a grounded guitar sound. The Human Demands in 2020 pushed that palette forward, and 2025’s Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For? adds fresh material that sits naturally alongside the early tracks. Her sets often move from debut-era staples to recent songs with the same steady, straight-ahead drive.
Sharing the bill, The Coral bring a psych-tinged indie sound that threads jangle pop and Merseybeat accents. Formed on the Wirral in 1996 around James and Ian Skelly with Paul Duffy, Lee Southall, Bill Ryder-Jones and later Nick Power, they emerged in the early 2000s with The Coral and Magic and Medicine, then explored darker, leaner moods on Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker and The Invisible Invasion. After a pause, the band returned to form with Distance Inbetween, Move Through the Dawn and the widescreen Coral Island, followed in 2023 by Sea of Mirrors and Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show. Their catalogue favors melodic detours and vivid coastal imagery made for open-air stages.
