Info
On 4 November 2026 at O2 Institute Birmingham, Birmingham, Despised Icon, Carnifex and Suffocation share the bill with Gates to Hell for a night rooted in death metal and deathcore. From Montréal, Despised Icon forged a tight, abrasive blend of death metal speed and hardcore impact, carried by the twin vocals of Alex Erian and Steve Marois and the rapid fire of Alex Pelletier. Expect cuts spanning The Healing Process and The Ills of Modern Man through the later Beast, Purgatory and beyond. Carnifex, formed in 2005 in San Diego County, brings a blackened edge to deathcore: Scott Lewis and Shawn Cameron mangle cold atmospheres, sharp riffs and heavy breakdowns, drawing from records like Die Without Hope, Slow Death, World War X and Necromanteum. New York’s Suffocation stand as a pillar of brutal death metal since 1989; driven by Terrance Hobbs and Derek Boyer with Ricky Myers on vocals, their set can reach from Effigy of the Forgotten and Pierced from Within to Hymns from the Apocrypha. Opening, Louisville’s Gates to Hell crashes hardcore weight into 90s death metal textures, with compact, tense tracks from their debut album Death Comes to All.
