Info
The Songwriters’ Round returns to the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall on 16 May 2026, for an intimate, stripped-back session dedicated to the craft of the song. Seated in the round, a small group of writers take turns to play acoustic versions of their tracks and talk about where they came from: a line scribbled on the road, a memory that won’t let go, the everyday details that end up in a chorus. No frills, no big production, just voices, guitars and the kind of stories you only hear up close.
Across the afternoon, each artist brings a different angle on country, folk or Americana: a ballad tightened to its core, a road song with dust still on it, a new verse tried out for the first time. Moments of harmony appear on the fly, and the chat between songs sheds light on melodies, characters and choices that shape the writing. If you like meeting songs at their source, this format gets you there, with space for questions, laughter and a few rough edges that make it real. Line-up to be announced.
