Info
Westside Cowboy bring their rough-edged “Britainicana” to Chalk, Brighton on 1 December 2026. Formed in the UK by Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell and Paddy Murphy, the quartet puts songwriting and ensemble playing at the centre, weighing country lilt against indie and art-rock bite. Broad melodies, wiry guitars and an intentionally unvarnished touch shape a sound that steers folk-country colours through a distinctly British lens.
After early tracks on the UK independent circuit, the band released the EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There in January 2026 on Adventure Recordings, a label linked to Island Records. Recorded in New York with producer Loren Humphrey, the record extends their mix of rock tension, subtle twang and taut refrains without excess polish.
On stage, Westside Cowboy lean into the most direct and abrasive edges of their songs. Recent months have taken them through a UK run in early 2026, US dates at the end of 2025, and shared bills with Geese and Black Country, New Road, alongside appearances at Glastonbury, Green Man and End of the Road. Expect tight interplay, sharp guitars and songs that shift cleanly from slow-burn sway to angular momentum, delivered up close at Chalk.
