Alela Diane

Alela Diane brings her intimate folk craft to Glasgow, where voice and guitar sit at the heart of the songs. Raised in Nevada City, California, in a family of musicians, she shaped a spare, acoustic style that emerged on The Pirate’s Gospel and To Be Still, pairing fingerpicked patterns with unadorned melodies. She later opened her palette with the band-driven Alela Diane & Wild Divine, before returning to a more hushed, introspective register on About Farewell. A collaboration with Ryan Francesconi on Cold Moon introduced instrumental detours, while Cusp and Looking Glass folded in piano and strings without losing the clarity of her songwriting.

On stage, she favors close listening, steady dynamics and lyrics that breathe, moving between folk ballads and discreet country hues. Whether solo or with a small ensemble, the set leans on storytelling, fine guitar work and a focus on space rather than volume. Alela Diane plays at Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox in Glasgow on 1 October 2026.
