Info
Steve Hackett, guitarist and composer who defined much of Genesis’s 1971–77 sound, brings Best of Genesis & Solo Gems to Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on 16 October 2026. With the fluid sustain and precise acoustic work heard on Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Hackett revisits Genesis pieces alongside highlights from a solo path that runs from Voyage of the Acolyte and Spectral Mornings to more recent work like At the Edge of Light and Surrender of Silence. On stage, his band extends the progressive structures he favors — long-form narratives, orchestral colours and tight rhythmic turns — while leaving space for the guitar to move between lyrical lines and percussive figures. The set connects electric and acoustic textures, rock drive and chamber-inspired arrangements that have always crossed his writing. The program maps a thread of British progressive music reinterpreted by a key contributor, with arrangements honed across the Genesis Revisited projects.
