Info
Corinne Bailey Rae plays the Royal Albert Hall in London on 27 October 2026. From church choirs and a Leeds rock band to the reach of her 2006 debut, her path keeps shifting. On stage she moves between the airy soul and pop of her early songs, the darker currents of The Sea, and the hybrid grooves of The Heart Speaks in Whispers. With Black Rainbows she opens a raw, exploratory space, drawing on rock, gospel and abstract soul inspired by archives of the African diaspora. The set leans on intimate vocals, guitar-centred clarity and a rhythm section that can tilt from hush to momentum, with room for new textures and reworked arrangements shaped for this hall.
Laura Mvula is also on the bill. A composer by training, she folds choral writing and classical finesse into R&B, jazz and pop. Her live sound aligns the orchestral glow of Sing to the Moon and The Dreaming Room with the synth-funk angles of Pink Noise, built on tight harmonies, piano figures and crisp electronics. Her presence brings a clear contrast and kinship with Corinne Bailey Rae, two British artists tracing soul’s branches into the present.
