Info
Asim Azhar brings his blend of contemporary pop and Urdu songwriting to O2 Institute Birmingham on 8 May 2026. First noticed as a teenager for online covers of English pop, the Karachi-born singer quickly carved out his own path, writing and performing in Urdu while keeping a foot in global sounds. His music sits between intimate ballads and more rhythmic tracks, with clear vocal melodies, R&B touches and hooks that slip between Urdu and English.
He stepped into the Pakistani industry through singles and TV drama soundtracks, before a turn on Coke Studio that widened his reach across South Asia, notably with his 2016 rendition of Tera Woh Pyar alongside Momina Mustehsan. Since then, he’s stacked a catalogue that resonates well beyond the subcontinent, from Jo Tu Na Mila to Ghalat Fehmi for the film Superstar. On stage, Azhar moves through heartfelt slow-burners and punchier pop pieces, mixing writerly instincts with a feel for broad, singable refrains. A chance to catch one of the key voices of the new Pakistani pop wave in Birmingham.
