SWMRS arrive in Milan on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Circolo Arci Bellezza. Born out of Oakland’s punk scene around brothers Cole and Max Becker, they started as The Raining Brains, then Emily’s Army, before finally adopting their current name. Since then the band has developed a language that blends punk rock, surf and alternative: fast songs, immediate hooks and lyrics that look to adolescence, online culture and the contemporary American experience. With Drive North in 2016 they set their coordinates between a DIY attitude and sharp melodies; Berkeley’s on Fire in 2019 opened them up to more indie colors and a more socially oriented edge. In concert they favor tight, no‑frills sets, fueled by Bay Area energy and a direct approach that comes alive especially on stage, with brisk tempo changes and choruses ready to be sung along to.
