The Notwist

On November 18, 2026, The Notwist will perform at Mon Madrid. Born in Weilheim in the late ’80s, brothers Markus and Micha Acher began the project amid rough guitars and hardcore energy, gradually moving toward their own territory where meticulous electronics, restrained guitars and hushed melodies converse. Albums like Shrink and, above all, Neon Golden opened a path the band has continued to refine with The Devil, You + Me, Close to the Glass and Vertigo Days: repetitive patterns, pulses close to krautrock, detailed arrangements and a pop sensibility that avoids heavy-handed gestures.

Live, their expanded lineup —often featuring Andi Haberl, Max Punktezahl and Cico Beck— turns that studio laboratory into songs that breathe and unfold in layers: precise rhythms, elastic basslines, programming that adds texture without saturating, and a voice that guides without imposing. The Madrid concert invites a journey through different stages of the group, with space for instrumental passages, electronic turns and restrained crescendos.
